Maxine J. Mowen, 88 of Macomb, IL passed away Saturday July 7, 2012, 11:55 pm, at the Elms Nursing Home Macomb, IL. She was born on April 23, 1924, in Fulton County, IL the daughter of Wm. Vernon and Haldean Stubblefield Hart. She married Robert Mowen on November 12, 1944 in Bushnell, IL; he preceded her on February 23, 1984.

She is survived by one daughter Mrs. Terry (Teresa) Melvin of Plymouth, IL; four sons William D. (Jo Ann) of Macomb, IL, Dan R. (Robyn) of Roseville, IL, Darrell G. (Janice) of Geneva, IL and Ronald E. (Renee) of Savoy, IL; 13 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

She was born in Fulton County, IL and raised in Cedar Hill MO. Moving nine years later to Bushnell, IL. She attended St. Francis Nurses Training in Macomb IL. She later married and has lived near Raritan, IL on a farm for 39 years, later moving to Raritan for 9 years and then moved to Macomb, IL. She was a member of the Raritan Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be on Thursday July 12, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Raritan Baptist Church, Raritan, IL . Burial will be in the Raritan Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9 am to 11:00 am at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Raritan Baptist Church or The Elms in Macomb IL.
